Parrotlets
are still relatively new in the bird market,
many people have not even heard about them. Most
of my babies are sold through the internet. I
have gathered testimonies from previous
customers, in hope of educating people about
these wonderful little parrotlets. This will
also help relieve the anxiety from ordering a
baby by email.

parrotlet we purchased from Linda. It's very
obvious to us that she does a great job of
raising the babies from when they are hatched.
Our little guy was obviously used to people and
was very comfortable with the whole family after
only a little while. He's full of personality,
friendly and a joy to have around. He loves to
spend time with his family and there is no doubt
that this is due to the way Linda cares for her
babies. Even after we took him home, Linda was
always very willing to answer any questions we
had about him. We highly recommend "Linda's
Parrotlets."

I bought Nemo
from Linda in September 2006. He is a real
sweetie although can be quite bossy at times.
He’s not afraid of anything, not even of some of
the larger pets around the house. He’s full of
personality, loves everybody in the house, and
has brought me tons of entertainment and
laughter. Recently, he has learned to imitate
sounds really well and can even say “step up” in
that little robotic voice of his. I’m trying to
help him expand his vocabulary now. He was my
first bird and is just so fun to be around with.
Everyone who comes over always comments on how
beautiful and spoiled he is. All in all, I had
an excellent experience – both bird and breeder
alike!”

This is where Pippin and Beanie live. As you can
see I have put a few branches inside for them to
climb on and chew on. The coconut that is
hanging in there is where they sleep at night.
As the clock nears 9 pm or if I turn out the
lights they head for their little bedroom.
In the evening as the clock approaches 6pm
Beanie starts to chirp then if I go into the
kitchen he flies in and lands on the play area
and waits for dinner. I give them some veggies
they like peas, broccoli, and sprouts.
Beanie likes to hang upside down and reach for
food his food. This is apparently a natural way
for Parrotlets to eat; we all found it very
amusing when they did this.. After a nap they
usually get busy, they both start climbing
around the cage exploring from the floor all the
way up to the ceiling.
They like to explore but are never far from
their cage, or other bird areas in the house.
One evening I came back into the room and I
didn’t see them so I called, “birdies where are
you?” No they didn’t answer, they were both
resting on top of the thermostat right beside
the cage. They’d never been there before so I
wasn’t looking for them there.

Hi there! It's been several days since I got the
bird from you! She was very shy and still is!
She's learning though and getting very
accustomed to our home. I haven't given her a
name yet, because I don't know her personality
yet. Thank you again so much for raising such a
wonderful parrotlet! Oh, and she loves her tent.
However, instead of sleeping in it, she sleeps
on top of it! It's really weird! So, anyway,
once I get my camera working I'll show pictures
of her in her new cage. Thanks again, and if I
have any problems, I'll be sure to know who to
ask.

WOW Linda,
They look amazing!!!! Everything went well. You
did an EXCELLENT job with the shipping crate! We
are so impressed, thank you so much! We will let
you know how they do over the next few days.
Thank you again soooo much!

Hi Linda,
I just wanted to thank you again for our little
charmer Pacific Blue Parrotlet - his name is
Blueberry Timbit, and he has definitely become a
large part of our family...chatty and curious -
needs to be in the middle of everything that
happens around the house. He spends little time
in his cage, and prefers riding around on
shoulders. He gives kisses and flies to my
finger if I call him. He comes with me to work,
and visits with the children - they all love him
too! You most certainly did a wonderful job
raising him - a big Thank You!
Now my teaching staff want to get their own
parrotlet...ha ha! I know you had a yellow male
there when I picked Timbit up - is that a common
colour (I haven't seen any yellow ones before),
and will you have any more of that colour in the
next few months you think? I think Miss Hanna
would like a male as well...
Thanks again Linda

Hi Linda:
Just thought I would give you a little update on
Molly as she is nearly 4 months old. She has
been with me for two months now and what a
little sweetheart she is. I take her out of her
cage and into the den where it is just her and I
for private time. Her new trick is to fly
towards me with her feet extended like an eagle.
She grabs onto the bridge of my glasses and
dangles down my nose. She thinks she's being
funny. I let her dangle there a minute before
moving her. You can only have so many feathers
up your nose. Thanks again for allowing me to
purchase her. She is a delight.
I also wanted to thank you for breeding such
healthy babies. I have had no problems with
Molly and Nigel and both are active robust birds
bursting with energy and curiosity. There is
also no problem with them eating their "veggies"
and "fruits". You obviously exposed them to a
wide variety of foods. Thanks to your great
customer service, I know where I will be getting
my next parrotlet.
Philippa, Surrey, B.C.
Hi Linda,
Everyone is doing great. Llewys is a real
sweetheart, she is on my shoulder as I type. You
were right, as soon as I got her home, she
didn't want to be off my finger or shoulder. She
is a big hit with everyone that has met
her...even non bird lovers.

Hi Linda:
Re: Skyler’s first vet check and ride home.
Everything went great! Skyler was fairly
well-behaved for the vet (only a little nippy -
considering the indignity of the examination)
and she was very happy with his condition, and
everyone was most impressed with his colouring.
Dr. Schild trimmed his wings a little more (to
keep him grounded for now), and all his vitals
were normal. Next check-up will be in one year.
She recommended "Harrison's" organic pellets
(not widely available, but we got some at the
Langley PetSmart Pet Hospital) and Nekton-S
vitamins (only available through Vets).
Skyler was not stressed by the car-ride, he just
sat and preened and nibbled millet.
Occasionally, he squeaked and David raised up
the carrier, so he could watch the scenery go
by. He is settling in at home nicely. He's met
our son, and been introduced to the play-gym and
to his cage. Just a few minutes ago, David read
aloud to him before we "tucked" him in for the
night (he was soooooo tired). Now, all is quiet
and we won't disturb him until late morning.
Everything seems to be going just fine.
I'll send a picture of him (on his play-gym)
once he's gotten used to us and his new
environment. Thank you again for such a
beautiful little boy.
Sincerely,
Dianne & David
Dear Linda,
I just wanted to write you a quick letter to let
you know that the parrotlets are doing
wonderful. They had no problem adjusting to
anything, and are getting sweeter and sweeter by
the day. Kamiko (Miko for short) is the boy, and
Mina is the girl. They definitely love each
other very much, and cuddle and preen each other
every chance they get. The kids love them, and
Cary is more attached than I thought he would
be. The dogs also, are intrigued by the birds,
and will sit in front of the cage silently
watching them for hours. I couldn't be happier,
and they have fast become a part of our family.
Thank you again so much for everything that you
have done, and for all of your time.
Sincerely,
Danielle, Kamloops, B.C.
The first time I saw a parrotlet in a pet store
I fell in love. I had never heard of them and
headed to the internet to do some research.
After reading more about them, my husband and I
decided it sounded like the perfect pet for us.
I wanted to buy directly from a breeder who
handfed, and found Linda through the Canadian
Bird Breeders website. A few days later, I was
on a waiting list for a little Blue Pacific
male, and Linda kept me updated by e-mail with
pictures and stories during the weaning process.
When he arrived by plane a month or so later,
those little chirps coming from his shipping
crate melted my heart. He has settled in well,
or taken over our household completely,
depending on how you look at it!
He loves to be where ever I am, snuggled up
napping on the couch, or on my shoulder while
I'm at the computer. He even showers with me on
his own little perch! He also enjoys bathing in
wet spinach leaves, he opens his wings and runs
through them like a child playing 'air plane'.
His vocabulary of sounds is growing steadily,
and he has picked up quite a few in his seven
months with us, including hilarious
wolf-whistles, microwave 'beeps' and a tendency
to sound like our leaky faucet.
He is able to entertain himself well on the days
I am at work or when I'm gone for the day, as
long as he has a small fortune in toys that he
can shred to keep him occupied. He can hear my
keys in the lock and I am always greeted with
plenty of chirps and whistles as he waits for
his 'I'm home!' snuggles. I could go on and on.
I had no idea just how unique these little birds
are, and am so glad we made the decision to get
one. I would recommend one to anyone looking for
a smaller bird with a gigantic personality, as
you will not be disappointed. The saying goes 'betcha
can't have just one', and it's true. As soon as
we have a bit more space we are looking forward
to adding another!"

Linda,
Just saw your new site and WOW, I love it!! The
colorful Parrotlets against the black background
is amazing! It's by far the prettiest bird site
I've ever seen. And all the pictures are too
cute! I can't say enough good things about it,
LOL. You did a good job!
Anyway, I'm always on the look-out for new toys
for Nemo and I noticed that you'll be selling
toys soon. I'd love to buy some off you when
they become available -- please drop me an
e-mail to let me know then
Thank you!

Our pride and Joy, Chico is possibly the most
loved Parrotlet in the country. He has a
wonderful and affectionate personality, always
wanting to be close to us. He loves to
chew paper and spends lots of his time with us
watching television and climbing around his
playgym and cage. He is 4 months old and a
pleasure to own. Every day is something new.
Either a new chirp, or new and adventurous,
playful activities!
Chico brings us lots of joy and turns a bad day
into a good day just with his cute mannerisms.
From the first little chirp he lets out when he
hears the key in the front door, it’s impossible
to not to smile.
Did I mention that he LOVES head scratches? It’s
like his whole life revolves around searching
for the ultimate head scratch! He also loves to
have his beak massaged. If given the chance he
would sit there for hours getting a head
scratch.
We often take our 'son' into the shower with us.
He loves to sit in the warm shower and once he
is in there it’s hard to get him back out again.
Chico is also becoming toilet trained and is
getting better at talking with "Chico" and
"pizza" the two words he is working on the most.
Thanks Linda

Hi Linda
Regis is the the baby parrotlet we purchased
from you on the 24th March 2007. This is our
third parrotlet and is by far and away the
friendliest and most social. He is in excellent
health, totally energetic and he loves to play.
We have no doubt that your expertise in hand
raising your birds is the reason we now have an
outstanding pet. Our only regret is that we
hadn't met you sooner. It is with great
enthusiasm that we recommend to anyone who wants
a parrotlet that there is no better place than
yours.
With thanks and kindest regards,
Ian, Vancouver, B.C.
My little green
Parrotlet Koolaid is 2 1/2 months old now, and
is already starting to talk! He says it quite
quickly but you can tell he's saying a human
word. He says "kiss kiss" and "good boy." He was
chasing after the budgie while saying "kiss
kiss." I hope he just wanted to say hi!
I purchased a playgym recently as well, and he
likes to hang out on it and chat to himself
while I'm busy resting on the couch. But the
minute I call his name, he flys over to me to
sit on my shoulder to eat my hair. He also loves
to snuggle inside my hair and fall asleep.
Everyone just loves Koolaid! They love his color
and cute mannerisms. They especially think it's
so adorable how he fluffs his feathers to be
scratched when I say "scratch scratch" even
though I think you trained him that first :)
He's also very good with eating his veggies, and
just starting to eat some fruit. And of course,
he always comes over to try and take a peek at
what I'm eating too. He's brought a lot of
enjoyment to me and everyone that he meets in
the last couple months. I know you're doing such
a great job with raising these parrotlets to be
tame and maintain their cuteness factor 110%.
I'm very glad I bought him from you. Thanks
again!

to St.John's Newfoundland is a long way for a
small bird! You cannot get farther apart within
Canada. However, thanks to the obvious care for
the wellbeing of the baby parrotlet, the flight
was a success. The green pacific parrotlet was
sent with plenty of food and water, and even
some little pieces of apple and spray millet.
The little girl is very sweet and tame, and
enjoyed being scratched on the head as soon as
she arrived. Also, she understood right away to
hop up on my finger when it was place near her.
I had a male parrotlet already, and they were
getting along very well right away when i
introduced them to one another. Linda definitely
loves these little birds very much, and you can
see this because of how docile they are. Aside
from the bird, the service was great. Within 24
hours of paying for the parrotlet, it was on a
flight and on its way across Canada. I couldn't
be more pleased overall. Thanks again Linda, and
you can count on hearing from me if I am
interested in getting another variety in the
future.
Best regards,
Jeremie, St. John's, Newfoundland
